Only long-term use will show whether this actually works in practice. In any case, our black test model proved very susceptible to unsightly fingerprints and other dirt marks. The gentle wedge-shaped Asus Eee PC 1101HA Seashell Netbook of the netbook is pleasant, and leaves the base section at a slight incline; along with the matt keyboard surface, this make typing more ergonomical.
The angular, self-closing hinges, affixed to the lid, limit the opening angle to a maximum of about degrees. Unfortunately they fail to prevent it from wobbling noticeably when it is adjusted.
The lid also moves of its own accord in some situations when jolted. When the closed notebook is held upside down, the hinges do not prevent it from opening somewhat.
Asus Eee PC 1101HA Seashell Netbook Review
One-year standard warranty MSRP: The HA is essentially nothing more than a larger version of the HA with a larger screen and a few different parts inside the clamshell chassis. Although the HA needed to be physically larger than previous Eee PCs in order to accommodate a larger inch screen, this new Eee PC is still exceptionally compact and makes a convenient travel companion.
Since the new HA has so much in common with the HA, some of our readers may want to jump ahead to the sections discussing the new inch display and the performance and benchmarks. Beyond that, much of this review will be surprisingly similar to our review of the last Eee PC.

The HA is a handsome netbook, though unfortunately too much use has been made of glossy surfaces and its performance is below par. We did like the HD support and reasonable battery life, though.
Single Review, online available, Medium, Date: Pricemo There are now a handful of and inch netbooks for consumers who are looking for a bit more real estate for their eyes and hands. The high resolution inch display, larger keyboard, and easily overclocked processor make this little laptop a compelling option if you're looking for a cheap travel companion.
Review Asus Eee PC 1101HA Netbook
On the negative side of things, the slower N Atom processor really "needs" to be overclocked in order to provide a reasonably snappy experience, and the weak Intel integrated graphics prevent this netbook from being much of a mobile entertainment center. And in fact, it feels kind of sluggish at times, even with the CPU running at top speed. You might recall, the last time we checked a Eee PC product was in late in our top netbook round-up. What we Asus Eee PC 1101HA Seashell Netbook today is a much stylized, equally lightweight and more usable offering than anything we reviewed back then.

Audio quality for the two downward-firing speakers was very good. Of course, as with any netbook there's a lack of bass, but the mids and highs were clear even at high volume levels.
The SRS Premium Sound software made a noticeable difference, but I chose to disable it as it seemed to introduce a slight distortion every 10 seconds or so during music listening, almost as if it were having trouble processing the audio. Besides that we encountered a couple more nuisances here and there.
Unlike the earlier model, however, there is no easy way to access the hard drive bay. View full Asus Eee PC HA Seashell specs on CNET. Notebook type.
